Furiosa confronts a menacing Chris Hemsworth in a teaser released a week before the anticipated Mad Max prequel in an intense confrontation.
Just over a week from its global debut, Warner Bros. has shared an exhilarating six-minute preview of the gripping action movie Furiosa. Taking place approximately 15 to 20 years before Mad Max: Fury Road, this narrative centers on a youthful Furiosa (portrayed by Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor-Joy) who is forcibly taken from her mother and brought before the intimidating Warlord Dementus, enacted by Chris Hemsworth. In the preview, we witness Furiosa's transformation from a frightened young girl into a formidable warrior, embarking on a quest for retribution against Dementus for the devastation of her family and theft of her innocence.
The story unfolds under the direction of George Miller, who collaborated with Fury Road's co-writer Nico Lathouris on the screenplay. According to the official summary, "Amid a power struggle between two Tyrants over the Citadel, Furiosa endures numerous ordeals while devising a plan to return to her homeland across the Wasteland."
It features a stellar cast, including Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe, Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack, Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, John Howard as The People Eater, Angus Sampson as The Organic Mechanic, Charlee Fraser as Mary Jo Bassa (Furiosa's Mother), Daniel Webber as War Boy, and Quaden Bayles. Chris Hemsworth was visibly moved at the film's debut on May 15 during the Cannes Film Festival, where it received unanimous praise and a seven-minute standing ovation.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is scheduled for theatrical release on May 24.
